V8's for Vocations
Thank you for prayerfully considering supporting one of our biggest and most fun programs. Proceeds donated on this page will be used to support the V8's for Vocations program and its mission to build up our seminarians through physical labor, build community and prayerful support in our parish, city, and diocese, and to financially support the Diocese of Gallup in their goal to educate and support seminarians discerning the priesthood for the Diocese of Gallup.
In 2014, the Rev. Matthew Keller started the V8s for Vocations project by restoring a donated ’72 Chevy Chevelle SS. As the then Director of Vocations, he was able to work with his seminarians and potential seminarians side by side, doing real physical labor as he directed a full body-off restoration of that first raffle car.
After a year and a half, it was raffled (still uncompleted) in December 2015 to provide scholarships for seminarians to become priests for the Diocese of Gallup.
Immediately after completing the first car, they received a donation of a 1969 Pontiac Firebird, and began their second project. Along the way, they attracted and worked with a number of mechanics and car enthusiasts who donated their time and talent to the program.
To this day, we continue to enjoy a beautiful community of volunteers, in Gallup and beyond, who help us accomplish this important mission.
Donate to support this program in the form below the photos, and thank you for your generosity!
